CATEGORY DESCRIPTION
Electrodes WPI offers a range of reference electrodes based on Ag/AgCl chemistry in both dry and liquid junction formats for many bio-applications. We also offer a range of metal microelectrodes in tungsten, stainless steel, iridium, and platinum/iridium alloy that are used in recording extracellular biopotentials and stimulation.
Epithelial Voltage Clamps Epithelial voltage and current clamp instruments are used to measure the potential across or current through an epithelial tissue mounted in a chamber preparation. These instruments allow the user to impose a fixed or controlled variation of voltage or current stimulation to the tissue while simultaneously measuring an independent variable of voltage or current in response to the applied stimulus.
Extracellular Extracellular amplifiers are designed to amplify bio-potentials that occur within interstitial spaces, or to amplify field potentials at the surface of the cell membrane or on the surface of tissues. They typically have a very high input impedance and high voltage gain capability.
Intracellular Intracellular amplifiers are sometimes referred to as electrometers. They are used to measure potentials within the cytoplasm of a cell. They are typically low gain, very high input impedance amplifiers that incorporate special features to facilitate the unique requirements of intracellular recording.
Specialty Instruments WPI offers a variety of specialty instrumentation designed to address specific applications. These applications include bio-potential discrimination and micro-pressure measurement.
Tranducers Biological transducers convert physical phenomena into a voltage, which is typically amplified so and recorded by a data acquisition system. WPI offers a range of pressure and force transducers.
Transducer Amplifiers Transducer amplifiers, also commonly referred to as "bridge" amplifiers, are used to amplify signals from voltage excited transducers that are designed to be sensitive to physical or electromagnetic phenomena, such as force, light, displacement, or pressure.
Accessories WPI offers a variety of adaptors, connectors, cables, and bio-interface products to simplify connecting your biological preparation to instrumentation.
